Your destination for any season. We invite you to a relaxing vacation in the primally Franconian region. Let the quaint Taubertal’s romantic nature enchant you.

Choose between three cozy vacation apartments in our guest house. They are equipped with a cooking corner, cable TV and fridge. Bed sheets, towels and tablecloths are provided. Fresh breakfast rolls are available close by.

Ground floor: living room with kitchen corner, bedroom with third bed, shower/toilet and terrace (~40 sq.m).

Second floor: living room with kitchen corner and couch, which can be pulled out into a double bed (160x200 cm), bathroom, shower/toilet and balcony (~45 sq.m).

Top floor: living/bed room, kitchenette, living room, shower, toilet (~35 sq.m).

We always attempt to make your experience with us as pleasurable as possible and are always available for any questions or suggestions. We will also gladly offer ideas for excursions near and far.

Detwang was first mentioned in official documents in 969 and is one of the villages surrounding Rothenburg in the idyllic Tauber valley landscape.

The city can be reached in five minutes of driving; several footpaths along the Tauber river provide great landscape views and also lead to the historical old town.

The medieval parish church St. Peter and Paul contains the valuable cross altar by Tilman Riemenschneider which is truly worth seeing.

Detwang is a popular vacation spot and offers two rustic restaurants with truly Franconian kitchen and cozy beer gardens. From the nearby starting area, you can go on hot air-balloon tours, or get to the Tauber valley bike path which also starts here and onto extended bike tours.

The historic old town as well as the area surrounding Rothenburg offer many choices for spending a relaxing vacation full of great experiences.

Our cottage is found in Detwang on the left side of Main Street (Hauptstrasse; it’s the second house).

Lovely surroundings and great people

We stayed with Frau Oberberger in early December for the Christmas market at Rothenburg. She was a fantastic host and not only picked us up from the train station when we arrived, but also took all our luggage back there for us when we departed so we didn't have to carry it around on our final day. The accommodation was spacious and clean and exactly what we had hoped for. The location is a 15minute walk from the town centre, along a well lit path which was no trouble for us but wouldn't suit everyone as it's uphill.

Hey,
My sister and I loved the apartment. It was an adorable place only about a 30 min walk from Rothenburg. There is a wonderful path throught the hills up to the town. It is a lovely walk with wildflowers everywhere. The owners were great. Very welcoming. We would see them once a day as they watered the flowers on our porch! The apartment met all of our needs. We enjoyed being away from the crowds is a small village just below the city.
